Quesiton: I have two girls one is 13 and the other is 10, My 13 year old will need to have braces and from what the dentist feels right now my 10 year old may also need to have braces. I really do not care about using the plan for any thing other the the braces. Just looking for something affordable
Reply: You may want to review our HMO dental insurance options for braces as they are the more affordable option. However, you will need to go to a plan provider and there is no outside network benefits under an HMO plan.
We do have PPO’s plans that provide braces for children up to age 19 but they are more costly plans then our HMO’s plans and will have waiting periods before orthodontic services are covered

Question: I am looking for a good dental plan that does not have any waiting periods. I use to have Aetna though a past job and I see that you have a dental plan call DentaChoice+ offer though Aetna. I live in California and I did like the Aetna plan that I had in the past. Does this plan really start within the next business day of your online order? I like that it is low cost but I do need something without waiting periods can you advise.
Reply: The Aetna plan we offer called DentaChoice+ is their dental discount plan. So it may not be what you had prior if you had a insurance plan though Aetna. However since it is a dental discount plan it does start within the next business day of buying it and does not have any waiting periods as all services received the discount prices at plan providers.
Dental Care, Knowing the signs and symptoms of Gingivitis.
Tuesday, Jul. 18th 2023 5:28 AM
Dental Care, Knowing the signs and symptoms of Gingivitis. Knowing the signs of gingivitis is important for preventive dental care. Some of the classic signs and symptoms of gingivitis would include swollen and red gums, gums that are tender or sore, gums that bleed when brushing your teeth.
Other larger signs of gum disease would be: Receding gums or gums pulled away from your teeth. Gum disease can cause pockets to form between your teeth and gums. When this happens plaque and ford debris can collect in these pockets.
If you have any of these signs or the starting of this signs go to your dentist. A dentist can confirm and treat any gums and teeth issues. Preventive gum disease is easy done by brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing daily and regular visits to your dentist for check ups and cleanings.

HMO Dental Insurance VS Dental Discount plans.
Thursday, Jul. 13th 2023 8:01 AM
Question: I live in CA and I have been looking for a good low cost dental plan that I can use for my dental services. I do not need any major dental work but I may need a filling or two.
I noticed that the lower cost plans tend to be either a dental HMO insurance plan or a Dental Discount plan, and that on either plan you have to stay within the plan network of provider and it seems that services are listed on a schedule. So what are the difference between the two types of dental plans that I am not seeing? Which is better to get?
Reply: The best dental plan is the one that will fit your own dental need the best. Both dental HMO insurance plans and and discount plans you have to either choose a dentist in the plan network or go to a dentist that in the plan network of providers. So that is important to keep in mind.
Then it is coverages vs discounts on the dental services you feel you will be needing or wanting to have. HMO dental insurance many plan offer free preventive dental care where dental discount plans you get a discounted saving off all dental services render.
Depending on the dental services you want can depend on which plan will fit that need the best. Such as if you want whitening treatment or cosmetic dental services a dental discount plan will give you discount saving where many dental HMO insurance plans do no offer coverages for those type of services
On the other hand if you are wanting a better cost for all your basic dental call dental HMO plan are normally offer better cost for their dental services.
Therefore that is why there is not one plan better then the next only one plan that may be better for your own dental needs.

Affordable dental Insurance
Friday, Jul. 7th 2023 7:28 AM
Affordable dental insurance for an individual. I would like to find a dental insurance plan where I can stay with my current dentist. The dentist I been seeing for the past seven years is not in any providers data bases. I was told I would need to get a free choice of dentist plan. I am not sure where to look for a dental plan that does not have a network.
Reply: The type of dental insurance plan you would need in order to stay with your current dentist that is not a provider of any plans would be either PPO’s as they typically would aloud for you to go outside their provider data base (sometimes at a reduce coverage). Therefore make sure you read the terms and conditions for outside network providers.
You can also review any indemity dental insurance plans. They work much like a PPO only there is no network of providers you can choose any dentist you want to go to. They can be a little higher in the cost of the plan but would give you the freedom to stay with your dentist without worry of reduce coverages.
Annual Maximum Limitation

What is a Annual Maximum Limitation with regards to dental insurance?
The annual maximum limitation is the total dollar amount that the insurance plan will pay for dental care on an individual member for a specified benefit period, typically a calendar year. If you have a family plan the max limitation is applied separately per person therefore each person would have the same max limitation. You will typically see this type of limitation in your PPO’s or Indemnity insurance plans.

Saturday, Jun. 24th 2023 2:42 PM
Here is a quick summary of what you need to know about dental, your rights, and how cost sharing works on dental plans:
- A child must be offered dental, but you don’t have to take it.
- If you have dental coverage through the Marketplace it will typically have a maximum of $700 for a child or $1,400 for a family.
- Adults don’t have to be offered dental. However, many Marketplace plans offer dental as part of the plan, or as a standalone. You can’t cancel dental that is part of your plan, so keep this in mind.
- If dental is part of your plan, you can still use cost assistance to lower your plan costs.
- Even with cost assistance, when you reach the maximum, you typically pay 100% of the costs for dental work. This is the opposite of health insurance under the ACA where you pay 0% after your maximum. So don’t be confused by that.
- Oral surgery may be covered by medical insurance in some specific cases, but generally it doesn’t cover non-medically necessary procedures.
- Dental works best for routine care, it is uncommon to find any insurance that covers major dental work past a certain dollar amount. (“The Dental Gap”?)
