Individual online dental insurance for New York

I am 21 and just got drop from my parents dental policy because I am not currently living in their household. I called Delta Dental which was the plan my parents have and was told that it is a group plan so I could not just buy one for myself.
I also called two other dental insurance companies my mom told me to call only to be told pretty much the same thing that they only sell group dental. So I go online trying to find dental insurance like I had when I was on my parents policy
I have come across some dental discount plans that sure look good but my dentist does not take them. I really want insurance so I can keep the same dentist that I have been seeing since I was nine. What is out there for me?
