Federal Trade Commission issues final order in teeth whitening case.
North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners, sought to exclude non-dentist providers from the market for teeth whitening services. The Federal Trade Commission said in a unanimous ruling and final order issued December 2nd that the board has 60 days to file a petition for review with the U.S.
As a result of the Board’s actions, many non-dentists stopped providing teeth whitening services and several marketers of teeth whitening systems stopped selling their products and equipment in North Carolina.
